Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support and lead complex civil infrastructure projects, including those with significant self-perform work. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in water/wastewater systems, concrete construction, or heavy civil projects, along with the ability to manage multifaceted project requirements with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoff's and field surveys to support contract progress tracking, reporting, and change order management.

  • Manage and administer complex subcontract scopes, including defining scope of work, responding to subcontractor inquiries, and monitoring performance and schedule adherence.

  • Review and interpret contract documents to ensure compliance with overall project obligations and assigned work scopes.

  • Support project start-up activities in coordination with the Site Manager.

  • Review subcontractor submittals to ensure alignment with project scope, technical specifications, and cross-discipline coordination prior to submission to the design team.

  • Assist during site inspections conducted by the design team, address installation deficiencies, and participate in commissioning activities including system sign-offs.

  • Proactively identify project risks related to scope, schedule, cost, or quality, and support mitigation planning.

  • Carry out additional project-related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 10+ years of construction experience in a project engineering or operational capacity.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, equipment, drawings, specifications, building materials, safety standards (HSE), and quality requirements.

  • Ability to apply engineering principles and structured problem-solving to field and project challenges.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic project environments.

  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Capable of developing and managing comprehensive project schedules.

  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and administering subcontract agreements and contract documentation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internal project management systems, with adaptability to new technologies.
