Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and support complex civil infrastructure projects within our Civil West operations. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in water/wastewater, concrete, or heavy civil construction, along with the capability to manage projects that involve substantial self-perform work.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of impactful projects while contributing to a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall contract administration, technical oversight, and operational leadership for mid-sized construction projects.
  • Develop and implement the project safety plan, promoting a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with design specifications, budget parameters, resource planning, quality standards, and established schedules.
  • Understand client objectives and propose value engineering solutions that improve functionality, cost efficiency, and schedule performance.
  • Monitor project performance and prepare regular reports related to safety metrics, cost forecasting, and schedule progress.
  • Negotiate, award, and administer subcontracts and major purchase orders, including oversight of progress payments and schedule compliance.
  • Interpret, communicate, and enforce contractual requirements and supporting documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate project closeout activities to ensure successful completion.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks and opportunities to optimize outcomes.

Design-Build Project Responsibilities

  • Oversee design progress to ensure quality, compliance, coordination, constructability, and timely deliverables.
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive design management and quality plan, including periodic audits.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, proactively addressing challenges and managing expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive construction experience, with demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain a strong safety culture in accordance with HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, specifications, building codes, industry regulations, and quality management standards.
  • Strong project planning, organizational, and time-management skills, including experience managing budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate project risks while capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management/scheduling software, with adaptability to emerging technologies.
